I frequently get overwhelming nausea and discomfort (rumbling) around 20 minutes after eating. Sometimes I have to hurry to the toilet. It often makes me feel really tired. Doctors seem totally disinterested but it’s really debilitating. It means I often don’t eat if we are going somewhere like the theatre. We are going to a party next week and I’m really worried about it. Does anyone else have the same or have tips for dealing with this?

I wonder if what you are feeling could be "Dumping Syndrome"? Obviously I can't "diagnose" !
But I'd say check this out and if things really ring a bell, then I'd get this checked out with your doctor.

But personally I always find eating in the midst of any social whirl whether it be a party, dinner party, meal before the theatre or concert etc, as a situation where food gets combined with stress, which is never a good thing for me. I always prefer to eat and digest quietly in my own or a quiet environment.
Also, does that happen if you eat small amounts frequently? Or just after a decent dinner or lunch?
Wondering whether it is worth asking your doctor about gastroparesis. Information below:
Most likely dehydration from lack of mineral magnesium, potassium and calcium with excess salt. Our diets are loaded with more salt then most of the other 3 combined.
I’ve cut right down on salt because it gives me restless legs. I put a small amount of low sodium salt in when I’m cooking but I don’t put extra salt on anything - not even chips/ fries. I have a banana and tonic water every evening to help with restless legs, so I can’t see that that is the cause.
I find fresh mint, or peppermint oil can help at times. I make a brew with cinnamon, ginger and cloves in the evening (if I'm not too tired)
