I have tried a few probiotics in the past, and I find that they give me more cramping pain. Can anyone recommend one that may not do this. Also I do take Buscopan when the pain gets too much, but the effect of them doesn't seem to last long and the pain comes back way before I can take another dose. Is there a more effective anti spasmodic.

I suffer from sliding hiatal hernia and IBS u or m. Do you get upper abdominal tightness grip in the upper middle part of your stomach ? Probiotics I have tried in the past is a liquid one called “restore “ by naked biotics . You can get this from Planet organic or you can Google there online website as in the item or the chain shop. You can try 10ml of it instead of 30ml and see how you get on. Also magnesium bisglycinate 100mg (1 tablet) at evening with your main meal may help you and your stomach feel calmer. The chelated magnesium is from a company called solgar and you can get it from Holland and Barrett.
Going back to the naked biotics “restore” it contains slippery elm and peppermint as well as other herbs along with the probiotics themselves. Slippery elm does help with cramps.
I've tried many probiotics over the years and Alflorex worked best for me. It has helped me greatly with IBS pain. It has been studied for IBS. It may not work for everyone but is worth a punt.
