Especially laxido, I think to extent it's in my head as I'm on many meds and not very consistent but as soon as I start taking laxido on a regular basis, I pretty much stop going to the toilet, start getting severe bloating and then worry about taking it. But every doctor I see just keep saying I need to take more. But I start anticipating the concequency of taking it before I've even taken it.
Beginning to think my bowel has taken over my life, the only thing that seems to bring relief seems to be having a colonic. It's it even possible for laxatives to have the opposite effect?

Yes, laxatives can make constipation worse - they give no "bulk" to push on. When I realised this, from reading, and (gradually) reduced and stopped my herbal supplements (Fibrogel and Laxido) my constipation improved a lot. I still need to use a pair of suppositories (usually) to empty my bowels. When I do sometimes get very constipated, Milk of Magnesia usually resolves things.
I agree with you 💯. I fought for years with the gp, and all I ever got was Peppermint Oil Capsules. Then years later, the doubling of Laxido, from 1 twice a day, to 2 twice a day. Took an instant for me to realise that they don't care and cause more harm than good. Why? A flat-out refusal to send me to see a consultant to find out why 😒Then after being diagnosed with Diverticulitis via A&E, I was referred to Urology by an order from the A&E consultant to my gp. There they found I basically had zero water in my bowels. I was prescribed Docusate x4 per day.
A few weeks later my Specialist Optician diagnosed me with Sjogrens syndrome.. . The cause of zero water, not only not my bowels, but all over my body, eyes included. What did my gp do..... zilch. This is after almost 12 months of intermittent blindness, inability to look at natural & fake light, deafness, etc. The gp surgery wouldn't refer me anywhere for tests and just let me get worse and worse 🤬 It was A&E that helped me & forced those evil gps to refer me... to private healthcare providers. For my eyes, I can call 24/7 every day of the week including all bank holidays & have had 2 mini operations on my eyes so far. For my ears I get them syringed every 6 months. I'm nit happy about the cost to the tax payers due to gp neglect
Years later my gp (a different surgery this time), has still taken the same stance as before and done nothing. I can imagine all the lies on my file about what they've supposedly done to help me dating from years back 😒
