My Gp has taken me off amitriptyline as he said its not suitable for over 65s as it causes dementia. He has trialed me on pregabalin which I can't tolerate. Wondering about nortriptyline. Does anyone have success with this med. I also have overactive bladder

I was always told they are both the same drug but Nortriptyline is better for not having such bad dreams ?

Hi I have just started pregabalin and the side effects are not good. It has also caused stomach issues. Although I did tell the Gp I have IBS and would this affect it. How did it make you feel?

Terrible ibs which I previously had under control with amitriptyline. So annoying as I told gp about how sensitive my tummy is. I also had continuous nausea and can't sleep

Was it the same with pregabalin?

No. With pregabalin I had constant nausea and my head felt like it would burst and I couldn't sleep either

Thanks Gingers. Yes it upsets my stomach too. I am now on lower dose but still causing problems but not as bad.
