confused about prolapse.

I went to see the doctor a couple of weeks ago about my urgency and not being able to hold it very long and then not being able to completely evacuate and also I had a bulge in my vagina. He says I have a mild prolapse so I asked if this is connected to my bowel problems but he says not. He gave me the fodmap diet but I’m already doing gluten and dairy free he also gave me exercises for the prolapse. I know it’s only been a few weeks but there is no difference so far. I’m so anxious about going out in case I need to go urgently. I’ve been on the internet and it does say a prolapse can cause these bowel issues. Should I see him again and question it more I’m not sure what to do. Any advice very welcome thank you.

I would go back to the doctors practice, perhaps see a different doctor. You need to discuss what's going on and speak the matter through thoroughly.Peace of mind is better than being stressed

I agree with all the above comments about trying to get a female doctor. I too have pelvic floor weakness and had a vaginal prolapse which I had sorted with a hysterectomy. I was unlucky and got an arrogant male consultant who was really unhelpful. I asked him whether a hysterectomy was the best answer and he said it was up to me! When I asked him how long I would likely be waiting on the list, his answer was "how long is a piece of string!" I too have bowel urgency, and also bladder weakness, my insides have never been the same since a 30+hr birth with forceps, and really only a woman can truly understand these issues.

I will see if there is a female doctor I can get an appointment with that’s a good idea thank you.

I agree with Ricky650 - you need better care than that! Request to see another GP for sure and have a good discussion with them about your options.

Agree with all the above. You need a 2nd opinion and maybe a female doctor. I had same thing and it scary. It def isnt something women talk about.
