Statistically you are far more likely to come back with an IBS diagnosis after colonoscopy. As you say, you have a bleeding pile, but good to get checked out if need be. You never know, the second FIT test may come back in normal range and they won't refer you. When I got referred, I tried not to think ahead, I just concentrated on day to day activities and wouldn't talk about it to anyone until I'd had the results back. That way I kept a bit of normality around what was going on to reduce unnecessary worry. All worry is unnecessary, unless it's something you can control and it makes you do something about it. Although human nature is prone to it. It's just a case of finding what works for you to keep yourself distracted.

Have the colonoscopy. It isn't too bad. It is the only way to reduce your anxiety.

It is normal to be anxious but have the colonoscopy. Fear of the unknown is often worse than the actual problem. You will know immediately what you are dealing with. It could be ibs, ibd or diverticulitis, any of which are more likely statiscally than cancer. The fit test only shows there is blood in the stool, the colonoscopy shows why. Be brave it's better to know what you're dealing with than fearing the worst. xx
