I was on here about 2 months ago, trying to learn something about diverticula /Diverticulitis's . I’m still no better at handling it. Why it worries me is I don’t like taking antibiotics unnecessarily, but within the last 3 months I’ve had to take them 3 times, before that I managed to avoid them for 12yrs. Now that just don’t seem right to me. I’m in constant pain from when I wake up to when I go to bed. By tea time I can’t sit in one position for more than an hour. The pain is mainly down my left side. My usual toilet trips are 3times a day like after eating, but I also have IBS so I can cope with that.If I go to the toilet 4567times each time the pain gets worse. I have a GP appointment tomorrow amazingly so I want to be prepared. So I’m asking once again can anyone suggest any way I can handle this pain without starvation. In my last post someone mentioned a liquid diet, can anyone suggest what that could be. I know we all tolerate foods different but you may think of something I haven’t tried. I’ll just say thank you to the folk who have read this post, and wish you ALL good wellbeing.

Hi, I think maybe they are referring to the elemental diet which your GP should advise you on. Other than that I am not sure. Hope you find a solution.
you can also do it with the supplement shakes but you would need x5 bottles so it would need to be on prescription you can buy some online if you wanted to try it. I live off the vital 1.5kcal nutrition.abbott/uk/product...
You can also get shakes called ensure online they can be used as a sole source of nutrition if you have 5 bottles.
The gp usually prescribes fortisip as they are they cheapest but I’m not sure if they can be used as sole nutrition however they are the same as the other two just the vital ones are kinder on the digestive system but very expensive nearly £6 per bottle without prescription xx
