Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid embarrassing accidents on planes? Is it okay to use Imodium proactively?

Yes, it is OK to use immodium before flying. Have you used it before? Just keep in mind that it can sometimes result in constipation afterwards. At least this is what happens to me. I also believe the pills can be cut in half. You can also ask your doctor or druggist how much they think you should take.

Thank you. I've not used it proactively before but I'm going to!

Totally fine to take in advance. If you know this works for you then use it. I have loperamide on prescription and take it daily to help control IBSd. Take care.

if I'm flying I take 1 Imodium early evening the night before and 1 that morning. This works for me.

I take 2 Imodium before I fly so no probs. I also take 2 if I am going out for a meal that might upset my stomach. Don’t worry you will have peace of mind xx

I have used imodium to travel my doctor suggested it. It is also useful on holiday when you are eating different foods. Don't forget to save some for the flight back. Have a good flight.

Hi ,I don’t eat before I fly or go anywhere .It’s a horrible I was once due to fly back to U.K. from Tenerife and I was so bad with IBS I went 25 times before my husband said I’m going to chemist and a couple of hours later I managed to board but was so worried .That’s what I do now the day before I eat very little .xx

the only problem with that is I get constipated from it. Then don’t go for days during the trip. Then get nervous about an explosion. Then you don’t want to take even more Imodium on the trip back.
