Do eggs or egg based food items trigger symptoms for you?
At one point I could eat eggs just fine but lately I feel anything with eggs in it triggers diarrhea, gas etc.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I used to eat eggs years ago, but not for a long time now. I tried one on toast a couple of months ago after not eating them for years and I was bad the next day. Don't know why this is as they're supposed to be easily digestible, I think it might be the fat in the yolks.
I can eat 1 egg but not 2 at a time. I'm wondering if it's the sulfur in egg yolks.
hi
Yes eating eggs is a real no no now. I used to love eggs and eat them regularly. I can’t eat them now, as if I do, I get severe pain and diarrhoea and I feel as if I have been kicked in the stomach. I can tolerate a small amount of egg, I think.
Fingers crossed that this passes for all of us affected.

I'm sorry you've had to experience that but happy you know the culprit
Do you remember how long your symptoms last after you eat eggs? Is it days?
Also do your symptoms start immediately after eating eggs? Or a day or two after consuming them?
I feel mine starts a couple days after eating them
it’s the day after. I do not know my transit time. I will have to try the beetroot test mentioned on here recently. I suspect that my transit time is different for different foods, though. What about you?
Try duck egg they taste the same. I cant eat Chicken eggs they make me ill.
I don't get problems with eggs. I'm grateful for that, as if I did my only other main protein source would be fish, as I have tried, but can't eat meats. As far as I can tell, they do seem to suit me, and I am dreading that possibly changing in the future.
Yes, I have always found that eating eggs leaves me with a horrible knawing empty sensation in my belly. They are supposed to be such a healthy source of protein and good fats, but I avoid them.
Well I haven't eaten them for the last 18 months nearly 2 years and when I did I was still adding milk and butter so I haven't eaten them since I thing it was the milk & butter was the problem in my case!!! So now I don't bother it's another thing off my list of NO NO Foods I haven't tried duck eggs as they night be the same!!!

Could you please tell me why you stopped eating them?
Did you suddenly develop symptoms after eating eggs?
Well I think it was my own look out as I put milk and butter in with them as I was having scrambled eggs instead of boiled or poached eggs and a day or so after eating them had very nasty Diohrea ( sorry about my spellings as I am no Doctor perhaps if I was things would be sorted out!!!) and as normal reached 4 the imodiums Oh it's just no BLOODY fun having This IBS/Diverticular Disease & all that goes with it ETC as before 2018 I could eat most things as I was never a fussy eater not with being the youngest of 5 siblings
Yes, snap! And not just eggs themselves but anything containing eggs so fried foods (eggs in batter) and pastry/pies too due to eggs. I'm hoping gone day I might be able to eat them again but it has been about 3 years now so I guess this might be a life long intolerance. I cant eat dairy or soy now either.
Its frustrating 😩
Were you able to eat them no problems before?
Does eating them trigger IBS symptoms?
Do you remember if symptoms started the same day you ate eggs or a day or two after eating them?
Hi, yes I was able to eat these foods just fine for 40 years and then I get "IBS" and within about 4 years of having it I find I've developed these food intolerances. I have symtoms regardless of what I eat but these foods trigger more IBS-D, wind, extreme gut noises and gut discomfort. It starts the same day after eating them and carries on for about 2-3 days after.
