Hi after having Covid March 2020 I've suff with GI issues. I was given loperamide hydrochloride 2mg orodispersible tablet to take and immodium. I normally buy immodium over the counter but I've been told I can no longer get loperamide hydrochloride 2mg orodispersible tablet on prescription. My question is has anyone been given this advise? If yes is there an alternative on prescription. I'm suffering with Myasthenia gravis Diabetes Osteoarthritis Hypertension Bronchiectasis Lung Fibrosis using ambulatory oxygen chronic fatigue and much more I'm no longer employed and every penny counts. Thanks in advance

Hi, that is interesting about not being able to get oraldispersable on prescription . My GP is still prescribing them. I get Imodium instants. They are very expensive to buy over the counter, but I have seen some supermarket own version. Morrisons and Home Bargains I think.
I do believe if we need this medication to help us through our daily lives we should be entitled to it, but I also understand cut backs to GP budgets.
Hope you find this helpful
Take care Pollyboo
