We've upped our game with probiotics such as live yoghurt, kefir, kimchi & sauerkraut and my ibs seems to be quite a bit better.
Anyone else had a positive experience with probiotics?

Hello yes for the last two weeks I have been having a kefir yogurt smoothie …(mixed with a combination of frozen fruits, water, spinach or kale) and things have eased ever so ….I told my doctor when I spoke with him on Friday about the Kefir smoothie and he wrote it down as he wanted to give it a go also ..so we will see 😀
My dietician advised me to go lactose free, it is hard to find a lactose free pro biotic. I stick to yakult. I have recently bought alflorex but dare not try it yet.
Great that you have tried these. I didn't get on so well with the sauerkraut possibly because it is high FODMAP and I do have trouble with a number of vegetables. Any dairy products including fermented ones tend to make my constipation worse. I do have probiotics in the form of Alflorex though, and it has been a game changer for me. Glad you have found something that works for you.
if, as in my case, your worst problem is severe bloating, you need to avoid ANYTHING that is fermented like the plague ! One teaspoon of kefir crippled me for 24 hours….it’s all high Fodmap!
