How I experience IBS has changed over the last year or so. It used to be that I was either fine or had a really urgent need to go to the toilet, but for a long while now I've just never really felt 100% well.
I've made no changes to my diet, and I still get the urgent problems, but my stomach is never 'settled', and I always feel like I kind of need the toilet. I'm also bloated/gassy much more than I used to be. Consequently, every single day I have the worry about needing to go to the toilet, which is bad when I'm travelling, or in a long meeting, or need to go into a meeting immediately after lunch, etc - obviously the stress doesn't help, but I still feel like this on days off when I'm home and not feeling stressed.
Does anyone else experience this? It's pretty depressing!

I absolutely empathise with you,its so debilitating dealing with IBS issues. I go days not going to the loo but feeling uncomfortable, bloated and windy, then will have bad stomach cramps and several trips to the toilet to empty my "bunged up" system. This happens randomly so as you say can be very stressful when trying to plan outings etc. My family and close friends know the situation and accept sometimes that I have to abandon plans. I am also fortunate to be retired now as I don't know how I'd cope with going to work. I presume you have tried all the suggested solutions like food diary, herbal teas, yoga and meditation. I've tried most things but sadly to no avail ! Hopefully you have support around you🤗
yes indeed when my symptoms are bad, it s a feeling of needing the toilet all the time, but generally i dont, go, but its a real struggle trying to find food that doesnt upset me, I feel its more my anxiety that specific foods, i get where you are coming from!
I could have written a similar post. My symptoms have changed over the last 18 months or so. My stomach never feels settled and I am much more bloated and gassy.
Sorry, I do not have any solutions, other than I sympathise with you!
