Hi has anybody had a full stomach scan if so what do they check for I have tummy scan 2morrow been told I can't eat or drink 6 hours before iv had scans in past on my lower tummy for overais but never this tbh and can they see the acid iv been getting every day

Hi Ella, i had a full thorax, abdomen n pelvic scan four weeks ago. I was having bad ibs diahorrea for some time recently, i had endoscopy and colonoscopy earlier in the year. All came back fine, just mild diverticulitis. I had to fast for 6 hours as well, are you having contrast to drink at the hospital? Basically they check for everything in the tummy, gallbladder, liver, kidneys and whatever else is in there. I cant comment on acid, but you can be sure if its there the scan will pick it up. Its a great scan and left me feeling happier, but not healed😆. Best of luck with yours

Not sure they just said after 8am I can't drink anything but water it's at 2 today I'm praying it picks up something to do with acid so it can get treated ASAP as iv had it days now its not gonna be very good Xmas although it's not gonna stop me eating a big dinner 🤦‍♀️😂 and having a drink il just be complaining boxing day lol

Just a update the lady said in scan everything is normal witch is good now to wait for bowel specialist

Just found out my refel has gone through as normal I'm fuming 😤

I had a complete mri abdominal scan. They told me not to eat anything after dinner. When I got there they gave me a solution to drink which actually made me go to the bathroom several times. The technician said it was a laxative and a contrast media. That was it the mri lasted a good 30 minutes.

I didn't get no drinking stuff at my scan it was stomach scan normal ultrasound but on top of My tummy and sides

Thankfully apple juice has been my live saver today 🙌 I finally had bowel moment to times today pebbles in morning but then soon as I had apple juice I went toluet

Hope your tummy isnt causing you too much grief.

Have you tried taking probiotics on a empty stomach?

Merry Xmas to u aswell today bowel are OK iv been drinking alot of apple juice witch helps me to go toliet in the morning
