I haven't been for years as I'm too ill now (other illness, not ibs), but I used to, and couldn't eat dairy or yeast, so I had to amend things a bit. Just adjust it as you need to, as long as you stick to the basic principles it should still work. If you have a good instructor/leader/whatever they're called, have a chat with them and they should be able to help you make substitutions. You don't even have to say you have IBS, just that you can't eat so much fibre. I have found that soluble fibre is not as bad for me as insoluble, if that helps? Good luck with it.

Hi robert many thanks for taking the time to reply. Im very sorty to hear u are unwell. Unfortunately i dont think im going to be able to stick to this plan. If i missed out the things i cant eat all the substitutes will havd a hugh syn value so id never be able to sustain the amount of syns that i have been told id be allowed 😕 Back to the drawing board methinks x

It can be so difficult can't it? I understand what you mean about all the stuff you can eat having a high syn value, I found that too, to some extent. My IBS wasn't as bad then, so it was manageable. Have you thought about trying the 5:2 way of eating? It works really well for me. You eat normally most of the time, but 2 days a week you just eat 450-500 calories. No restrictions on what you eat at all. I can recommend a good website/forum thing if you're interested?

It has a great tracker for tracking your weight/size loss as well. Lots of support in the forums.

What form of Ibs do you have. I was warned away from dietary products in general due to the majority of them containing sorbitol or other artificial sweeteners. The slimming world products also contain sugar substitutes which for IBSD can have a horrible effect. I would be very careful and read the fodmap before doing anything else. It helps a lot

Hello there thanks for your reply. I havnt used any of the actual slimming world products and wont have to really so thats okay. I dont follow fodmap as i feel its too restrictive for me personally. I do have ibsd so have to be very careful about what i eat i have cut out dairy. To be honest though im flagging with the plan as wvery day u have to choose a healthy option a (almost entirely dairy products) and a healthy option b ( all high insoluble fibre items such as brown bread shreddies weetabix). I done the plan for 2 days and had to stop as it made me ill. I dont think its going to be sustainable tbh 😔
