I’m unsure as to whether the pain I get in my right side upper ribs is linked to my ibs pain in my stomach, it does get worse when my ibs is more painful, or could it be a muscle strain I remember lifting something quite heavy and over stretching , that was months ago though.
Any advice on over the counter pain relief for it
Thank you

As others have said, I get pains all over the place. IBS seems to put a lot of strain on the body, and so I suppose it is not surprising. Still, it is uncomfortable, and quite worrying at times.
Feeling so fed up and irritable ! I wake up with this always hanging over my head ! All day thinking about my bowel and I cannot distract the thought !! Anyone got any ideas because it’s frightening me and I cannot concentrate!
Only saw this now . I think about it all the time and worry non stop . Today I’m up at 5am with the pain . But thinking the worst but it my bowel . Brain fog and teary . But speak to your dr if you can . Try not to worry as it makes everything worse . .
Bit of history on upper right quandrant pain in case it rings true with your symptoms. It was this pain that was the first sign for me of IBS, I've had it on and off for over 6 years (i'm now 36) but I would say it's been gradually getting worse over the years. To start with it felt like a muscular problem. I used to play a lot of sqaush so I put it down to a muscle strain.
After months of it not going away I went for physio, still thinking it was an injury. When it turned out it wasn't an injury I had assumed gallstones but after going to the doctor a few times they agreed to a scan which came back clear.
Fast forward a few years and I'm now used to the pain, but it is still quite worrying. It is definitely episodic but getting more frequent. In previous years I would notice it gradually getting worse over periods of over-indulgence. Like on day 5 of a holiday abroad or over the Xmas period for example. I have never managed to work out if it's a specific trigger food or just the general richness of food when you are on holiday.
Now it flares up more easily, like after two days of not eating perfectly and is more likely to be accompanied with diarrhea, sulfur burps and general bloating.
