H.pylori infection

Hi I have tested positive for H.pylori and have diverticulitis and IBS. Have been prescribed amoxicillin and metronidazole . I have been constipated and have bloating some starting them

Also have to go pass urine frequently . I was wondering if there is anyone here who has had this problem.

the antibiotics are to cure the H pylori, which can cause a stomach ulcer I think and that's the treatment now. They will kill off any good bacteria in your gut too, which is what will cause the upset in your day to day bowel movements. Drink lots of water, to keep yourself hydrated and help prevent constipation, and as soon as the antibiotics are finished supplement with a good probiotic, such as Actimel to help repopulate your gut with good bacteria-we need that to digest our food! Keep up that routine and you should return to a steady daily routine. Good luck-always ask questions though-don't worry needlessly! Diverticulosis is very common as one gets older, and is only a problem if there is a flare up through (usually) poor diet. Keeping your fluid and fibre intake up helps with that too. The "iBS is always tricky as what works for one does not for someone else!
