I think my ibs is milk related, cold milk seems to give me pain so I’m trying to stay off this to see if it helps.

That's pretty common. Dairy and IBS generally don't mix very well.

I never have used milk since 1980. I don't even use any other non-dairy milks. But I can't live without butter! Strangely it doesn't do any harm to my IBS at all. But every time I try cheese I will get away with it for maybe the first two days, then if I have a piece of cheese every day, will get a flare up within a few days. I have learned my lesson.

Good idea. Stay away from milk and check all food ingredients for lactose and whey powder. The top 3 food intolerances are dairy/lactose, yeast and wheat.
