Pain in arms?: Does anyone else with IBS get... - IBS Network
Pain in arms?
Yes I do ! Mainly the left one doesn’t go any further than the elbow . Glad I’m not the only one with this , it puzzles me why though x
Thanks for replying Catty at least you get it as well, oh how I hate having this.
Hi Annabelly, I have had IBS for over 35 years but along the way I developed pain in my legs first and then pains in my arms. To cut long story short, I now have pain all over my body, I'm 64. I believe, the pain I am experiencing is fibromyalgia caused by the IBS and the pains have now gone up via the vagus nerve (in my opinion) into my face, including my eyes and ears and teeth. Basically my whole body hurts. The worse the IBS is, the worse the (what I call) referred pain is. But I can't get a doctor to listen to me! And anyway, I know from the internet that there is nothing that can be done! I also think I might have had COVID when it first kicked off and that has had some bearing on accelerating the process. But like I said just my take on things.
Oh Maureen I feel for you. I have only just been told I have IBS D and I'm scared most of the time. I felt like I was having a stroke.Thank you so much for replying, God bless.
Perhaps, as you say you felt like you were having a stroke, you should just run this pass your GP just in case!
I have also been told by several docs that they suspect fibromyalgia. They don't like to confirm these things . I find it is always worse in the morning . I awake aching all over I was fine when I went to bed. I am hot and my legs feel sun burnt. I also have RLS (Restless legs syndrombe) and am exhausted from very little sleep. I also don't like bright sun light. It gives me head ache, and everything throbbs. I get up early, but half the day is wasted I can't do anything until about 11am. I Never make appointments in the morning. These are just some of the more common symptoms of fibromyalgia.
Hi my arm pain tends to shoot from my left hand side of my stomach right up into my left arm pit like a sudden electric shock
Thanks Jilly and Maureen, I will mention it to the doctor but the letters IBS don't help much with the medical profession do they. Thanks so much for replying, it helps to know it's not just you.
I've been struggling with my ibs_d for over 9 yrs now and it's been getting gradually worse that I actually don't want to eat as I'm fed up of the reaction to food, I don't think medical professionals take it seriously but it's crippling on family life and I have no social life. Good luck with your journey Annabelly x
