Hi I am new to the forum. When I get stressed I am presuming my IBS flares with tummy ache, bloating and not being able to eat. I also have huge haemorrhoids on the outside. I have blood in poop and a feeling of wanting to poop all the time. I had a scan for my bowels about a year ago and poop test a couple of months ago. I don’t weigh very much but I am a very anxious person with guilt feelings overly sensitive probably. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The pain is about two inches above my pelvic bone. Looking forward to hearing from you. Sorry for the long post.

IBS help and haemorrhoids
Hi Really get how you feel. I have piles as well and get pain where you do, on the left and problems opening my bowels even when soft. I have discovered by trial and error that the pain is a combination of straining to poo, constipation and referred pain from my piles/nerve pain in the rectum. I get a feeling of constantly wanting to poo and was diagnosed with a rectocele which is a prolapse of the rectum, not sure if you are female or male but mine is due to giving birth. It causes the stools to collect in the prolapse and gives the sensation of always wanting to go. Google it and how to manage it! You need to get some help with your piles and further tests if you are not eating. I also have a large colon although I am only small (8st 5) it gets filled up and stools move very slowly through it causing pain down the left side of my abdo. I eat milled flax and drink well to help move it along and occasional laxatives if really bad suppositories.
Hi gold22. Female. I have started to eat again. I eat lots of greens but no fruit. I do see a therapist for mindfulness etc but last week was particularly stressful and I realise I should look out for myself more and take more time. Today not too bad. About weight I am 6 stone but not tall about 5 feet. I have always been slight but last year I was put on a tablet due to something else which unfortunately did not make me hungry and I lost one stone and cannot put it back on. I loved chocolate but since that tablet have not eaten it much at all. Thank you for your great advice. I think it was a thrombosis haemorrhoids and it has burst but really not sure. Putting cream on at the moment. I don’t feel constipated or loose so goodness knows. Again thank you x
Glad you are starting to eat, because only being 6 stone even for a slight person is verging on being anorexic for which you need professional help. Things must be tough for you. Chocolate will definitely cause constipation and lack of a balanced diet, too much insoluble fibre such as veg can do the same. Really hope things improve for you soon.
Thank you gold22. The GP knows my weight and I often get asked about my eating habits. I have breakfast and for dinner usually beans on toast and dinner Yorkshire puds with vegetables, quiche a few chips and quorn chicken. I honestly though chocolate was a laxative. I used to eat a lot of chocolate but since that tablet a year ago I found it hard and went off it. I also eat curry etc. at the hospital I get asked about diet etc but I have always been asked that. Unfortunately due to my age I don’t have much muscle now and quite saggy lol. The forum seems a great place and so pleased I found it. Thank you again
My situation is unbelievably identical to Gold22. Not sure if your pain is on the left side Bloaty1. Mine is as Gold22 describes, on the left. I get a lot of blood in the toilet and have been diagnosed with internal haemorrhoids. My appointment with gynae to deal with the rectocele keeps getting postponed due to NHS delays. While waiting I manage things myself. Like Gold22 I take milled flaxseed and lots of water. I also try to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, do plenty of exercise to move the body and, something you might find particularly beneficial, meditation, mindfulness or relaxation. There is lots of information on the internet to get you started on learning to relax and that may help your gut. CBT might help with your feelings of anxiety, guilt and sensitivity. I personally also need to take fibre supplement (fybogel) and stool softener (macrogol) to try as much as possible to prevent straining
