Hi

Was going to google but really trying not to as I know makes things worse.

Has any one else experienced pressure in the bum like you need to go to the toilet and pain? I can’t explain it properly but it’s like a cork that needs to pop, it’s not constant but is there a lot. I also have pain that sometimes feels like shooting pains or a sharp pain. It’s a horrible feeling, if anyone else does have something similar any advice would be much appreciated.

I do get some pain around my coccyx area I do feel a lot of it has been cause by the weeks of staining either to have a bowel movement or to pass trapped wind.

Sounds pretty familiar to me. Do you have C or D? I think this is more common with D, like I have right now. Where are your stools on the Bristol chart? Mine are on the lower end.

Hi - I get the shooting pains / sharp pains which I’ve read can be something called Levator-Ani syndrome (worth looking up to see if it’s similar to what you have). Might be worth a call with your doc though just to check it all out.

Hi Tiffany12 Omg I have just read about that syndrome and I have every symptom and when I read it it’s just what am going through.

I will defo speak to the doctor too about it, thank you for that.

Hope you find some relief - I just happened across the info about the syndrome in this forum, so pleased I joined it, so happy to pass the info on. I don’t know that your doctor will be able to help much if it is this issue, but they may suggest investigating further. Good luck!

I have had the sharp pain and pressure also and it was very painful but did come and go; spent many months sitting on a very thick cushion at my computer desk! When I asked the GP they were unsure but suggested it was due to the rectum getting more sore when someone is having D. (Not sure if this is the case with you?)No advice was offered in terms of how to relieve it but I found that having a warm bath really helped. Mine was short-lived - a few months on and off at most.

Yes I have similar it's not the easiest thing to describe feels just like you are plus sitting on my computer chair can be uncomfortable .I just take co codamol it helps a bit sometimes and a lot others. I've had it for over a year and after a few ultrascans that showed nothing my gp lost interest so it's just pain killers at the moment 😒 Oh and I have a catheter so don't know if that agravates the situation or not
