I have IBS mixed and am constipated at present really struggling to know what’s best to take. I been taking Senna, Lactulose and Bisacodyl.
However the senna and Lactulose too mild and can take days to work and the Bisacodyl can sometimes be a bit harsh and causes me to have the worst stomach cramps.
I just want something that’s good and works.
Also any advice on how to cure a sore bum that feels like constant pressure or something stuck there.
Any advice

Is your diet OK, coffee and water can help with ibs c... That pressure on bottom can be because of the constipation, but if it's bad you should get it checked.. Some kind of lubrication might ease the pain.
Hi, I use bisacodyl and yes, taking a whole tablet can be too harsh for the intestines, causing pain/cramps. That's why I try to cut the tablets in half, 3 quarters .I combine / alternate it with cascara sagrada, 3 times a day 2 capsules. It's not the perfect solution but it does work for me to some extent. And of course have to mind what I eat and the amount I eat at once but that must sound familiar.
Hi I have the same problems ….tried most things taking a Probiotic at present. Thought it was helping but a terrible night…pains in lower back and not stop wind. Pains go if I have a movement which is most days. I use suppositories and anusol cream when necessary. Most of my pain is in lower back very bad from about 5.00 am…told Probiotics can take weeks to work. Hope this helps. X
Hi Bassem1979. Have you tried lactulose liquid? The hospital gave me this after I had a op. Works within a couple of days. You can buy in the chemis. And try sudacrem for your bottom soreness, outside only not internal. If not better then see your gp. Wish you better.
Thank you for the advice.I have used the things stated but then if I stop taking I become constipated again . Can you take a laxative every day ? Am concerned if I take every day long term I will do damage, I just wish I could go to the toilet naturally like we all would.
I use a bulk forming laxative every day now. Along with plenty of water this means I only need a stimulant occasionally - most recently dulcolax suppository which is bisacodyl. I've been told by GP that's fine and lots of people do that, but to try to avoid using stimulants every day. For me this is working well. I used to go through a cycle of constipation & strong laxatives.
Hi Bassem, I take Flaxseeds every morning, which I have soaked in warm water overnight which is very gentle on your gut, and can go naturally every day. I only have a teaspoon of flaxseeds or golden linseeds in about 3 tablespoons of warm water, this softens them [the linseeds] so they will work their magic instead of just passing straight through you!Good luck!
I find taking linseed/flaxseed also very helpful preventatively. I usually get a version that is ground or milled (which I don't soak) after being recommended by my dietician. Maybe the milling has the same result as soaking.
I don’t have the best gag reflux so if things come in tablet form that’s better for me. I can take lactulose short term but majority of time I throw up as soon as it hit back of my throat. So if anyone has any ideas with regards to a bulk forming laxative in tablet form I would appreciate it.
Hello there from another IBS M sufferer. 😞 For C periods under control Muvicol works the best, but if it fails than Resolor. Not sure if in the UK you can get it without prescription, here you can't, but my experience is really good. No cramps, no pain, only slight headache for couple of days. It takes 1-2h to work (initially). I also found a nice change when started Proflora Fiber (probiotics + prebiotics) daily, for a month, but as it always happens - after some period my body just says it is enough.
