Stomach so loud

Hi

My stomach goes from one Extreme to another, today it’s so loud right and left side. Then other days I don’t hear anything.

Does anyone else get this ?

I keep writing on here cause am panicking and stressing my self out and just feel comfort when people talk about what they are going through so you not alone. If it was not for the not being able to pass wind I would not be panicking as much.

I ve been googling again and always the worst case comes up.

I just want to be back to normal (well what ever normal is) .

You will most likely find it is all IBS and diet related,

I don't eat until after 4pm usually and I sometimes fall asleep on the sofa after and when I wake up my husband often tells me my tummy has been making lots of glugging noises. But when I am awake and hear the noises myself it makes me anxious! I think we get hypervigilant about noises like that and think we need the toilet when we don't neccessarily.

I sort of cured my IBS by following the fodmap diet. Mainly cutting out all of the onion family. Also onion and garlic powder which is in most convenience foods. I say this as you said you had a cup of soup. This has probably got onion powder in it. Do research into the FODMAP diet it's very helpful for us IBS sufferer's. Good luck

Oh thank you That’s one thing I would not have realised but now you said it I understand.

I think because am so busy with work my diet is about convenience I don’t eat a lot of ready meals but I will find quick things like pop a pizza in the oven.

I know my diet plays a big part, I do believe stress has brought it on initially due to a new promotion at the start of Covid in management and it’s been very stressful.

Thanks for the advice

Yor'e right, I look at ingredients on all tinned and prepacked food,.Most soups have onion, garlic, pepper, chilli etc etc, that's what gives them flavour. The only one that I have found that I can tolerte is M&S cream of mushroom soup.I kn mushrooms are high fodmap but the amount of mushrooms in thesoup is negligable

I might try that soup. I make my own but sometimes you want something quick. Thanks for that.

There was a programme on TV about ibs and they scanned the stomach of the Dr after drinking some special liquid. It showed up the bubbles of gas in her stomach which were small. They said in an ibs patient these bubble can be bigger leading to bloating and wind. Do you drink fizzy drinks? I have mint tea after my eve meal which helps and chamomile tea in the afternoon as it relaxes muscles. A cup a soup is really just water and easy to digest. In the eve you said you had dinner. Were you really hungry and ate your dinner quickly I know I would be with just a cup a soup for lunch. Regular small meals maybe easier on your stomach. Take care x

If you go long periods without food then have your main meal you will go from one extreme to the other. When you sleep your guts tend to slow down too. If you are empty they will rumble if you are full they will gurgle ect ect. Just tell yourself they are busy digesting. As long as you are not in too much pain. Even healthy people get indigestion. Try to eat regular meals at regular times. I learned the hard way that stressing over every mouthfuls and every gurgle and squeak only makes matters worse and yes the fodmap diet has helped me too.
