Hi this is my first post for this issue, can anyone one help please could these be symptoms of diverticulitis? I was diagnosed about 10 years ago and havent really had any problems, but the last 2 months I keep getting really achey and having to go to the loo alot, the achey feeling makes me feel miserable, I really dont want to do anything, then it will suddenly go and I am fine for the rest of the day.

I cannot pin point any trigger , I am probably not eating enough roughage, and have eaten seeds a few weeks ago.

Could this mean i have an infection please and is the only way to get rid of infections antibiotics Ior do people do colonics to help I wonder. I am trying to avoid Drs! I wonder if anyone uses MMS for this?

I was first diagnosed with Sigmoid Divertic in 2016. It was just on my release notes, on discharge are being in hospital 7 days with community acquired Pneumonia. I had one CT scan and One MRI scan. It also said I had a Hiatus hernia, , but I didnt know I had any of these, but the worst thing is, they sent me home, without even telling me what diverticular was, or a hiatus hernia was. I had no medicines or papers on how to deal with these. But after my own research, it small things like pips or seed can bring on an attack. I have had a bloaty tummy look for years, and annoyingly I always seem to have a tiny ache at times, which is hard to put down either to the |IBS i have or something else. After being admitted 6 weeks ago with bloody stools, the diagnosis at the time was Flared up Divertic, I had my virtual CT colonoscopy that was horrible, two weeks later, consultant told me, nothing really bad, but he said I had a little thickening of bowel near Divertic, which most probably is lesion or something. to make sure, have to do a Stool test. if it comes back at 0.4 or near I would be discharged from him, however if its 6 or more, I will have to have a sigmoid camera test, to look at it. seems it measures if you still have particles or blood in your stool. haven't seen any since that pretty distressing day when poop was not right. good luck

👍💯

Hi there I have diverticular and thickening of the bowel wall this was found out on a ultra sound when I was sent to hospital with pain that would not go away it was not inflamed so no antibiotics thank goodness . So I have to take stool softeners Macrogol but I don't take them everyday ! hope this helps you a bit too.

Interesting, I was sent a fit test last week, but true to form it had no address or surgery, or consultant dept to send it back to. Over the phone consultations are OK, but the phone call is private number, I have no idea where he was calling from, so not used yer. Probably have to contact my own GP. 😳. However that consultant did indicate the slight thickening of the bowel was was some condition to do with either my IBS or the divertic. I had no idea until you said about it. I changed my diet again to include soft fruit in tins, to stop constipation. I really did worry about cancer, but I don't really have any other symptoms such as weight loss, bad pains apart from crampy wind, which is quite normal for me, having mobilty issues. Blood count remains normal, platelet count a little high, but haematologist puts this down to horrible joint arthritis, or changes due to small none malignant 4cm mass in my right kidney. Other than that, I put my name down for next 007 actor🤣🇬🇧🇬🇧. Update: I see you said eat seeds???, I thought these banned under divertic food much as strawberries. I'm told these can get stuck inside the pouch and cause problems, but don't qoute me lol

Hi there yes I have mobility issues I have fibromyalgia flare ups nearly every week! I dont eat seeds they can get stuck in your divers I cannot eat strawberries they definitely disagree with me ! I eat apples nearly everyday .so try and keep my motions soft .I was very worried because my mummy died of bowel cancer she was 79 . No I haven't lost any weight only when I had issues with my gallbladder because I couldn't eat without being ill so I have now issues having to much bile dripping from my liver which actually irritates my intestines too ! So not much hope for me I just carry on i don't work I'm retired now .have a good weekend keep well 😜

Aww sorry to here, my mum had a hiatus hernia in the eighties due to sickness from a duedonol ulcer. I was flabergasted in 2016 when a discharge letter from hospital after a week with CAP, it said sigmoid diverticular and hiatus hernia, i never knew i had!!!! which is why i take omeprozel every now and then to keep acid in check after large meals. When i was a teen we had a town allotment with a huge strawberry patch, sold punnets to local seaside guest houses. Yeah strawberry's dont like me now. Im retired 70, want to go out but so restricted which causes gas to build up. Dammit getting older sucks. 😣But do have a great weekend and keep well speak again soon👍😀
