Hi guys,

I’m undergoing some rather strange tests to find a diagnosis for what’s going on with my belly, it’s so j predictable at the moment we aren’t sure as to whether it could be my Endometriosis growing in my bowls, ibs or even celiac disease. So to stop these very loose stools the doctors gave me colpermin… but that’s now turned me constipated! I absolutely hate having this constant anxiety as to whether somethings wrong with me… I go to the toilet and try to ‘go’ when my body tells me to but nothing! Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know what could help with the constipation? I’ve even added more fibre into my diet and water and I’ve had no use!

I have a very sensitive bowel, I seem to get a reaction from everything but I don't remember having a problem with colpermin. They didn't do any good but I can't recall thinking they made me worse or gave me constpation!

What about stool softeners? Have you tried them? You have to drink a full glass of water when you take them.

Sounds a lot like stress could be contributing to this. Try to stop worrying, I know that's easy to say but just think of the positives, that you are having all these tests that will find out what the problem is, and hopefully find a solution. In the meantime try calfig, or dulcoease for your constipation and if you think it is the colpermin, stop taking it. We're all different

I have had decades of severe IBS (both constipation and diarrhea ) and tried everything, including the current FODMAP (Monash University) diet . Until the last couple weeks, the diet helped more than anything, tho’ it is complicated and not easy to implement,it is well worth the effort. About two weeks ago , I added “FLORASSIST GI with phage technology” from Life Extension Foundation (lef.org) (I have no affiliation with this company) and am suddenly, after being on the supplement for a couple weeks, finding almost complete alleviation of symptoms (still on FODMAP diet so I don’t know if just the supplement will be enough to maintain symptom freedom. Will know in a couple more weeks). If listing LEF.org is not appropriate, the moderator will remove this post. I hope moderator will leave in “using a supplement with phage technology” . I would never have believed that anything could have provided this much relief. I hope this helps some of you. behj
