I, often, get up in the night (up to 7 times),. As far as the pain disappearing when you are busy, I have often wondered how much more do we attend to our bowel and belly pains than someone without a diagnosis?
Yes i am hyper aware of every pain and cant shake it from my mind. No pain killers seem to relieve the pain for me. Donyou suppose the urination is due to pressure on the bladder?
I have [posted about this before, and said, then, that when the intestines are inflamed, swollen or full, they will impact on the bladder, but, generally, it would be to stop you from urinating.
There’s also the possibility that the pressure might irritate the bladder, which seems to be my case. With regard to having less sensation of pain when occupied, this is the basis of “mindfulness” - being distracted does seem to help.
Hi I have similar symptoms which are only relieved when I actually go to the loo. I also pee much more when I have the pains. Always helps when you active but stress is a real killer for IBS in most people

Unfortunately my pain lingers even after usinf the toilet. Nothing seems to ease it
I find being busy helps but when in a flare I get really irritable, largely because I'm exhausted from not sleeping much
I went to the doctors when I started getting up to have a wee at night. Got antibiotics for a UTI which worked, also cured some stomach ache which I’d had on and off for weeks. Anyway the sample came back negative but that didn’t explain the symptoms going. Weird!
Thats odd mine was also negative so i didnt take the anti biotocs in fear of upsetomg my stomach
Usually my pains also ease a little whilst active
