I’m new to this so bear with me!

I think for as long as I can remember I’ve always had issues with my bowels. Bloating, cramps mixture of stool types. Over the last year it seems to play up more frequently. Every morning like clock work I wake up and go straight to the toilet. Always a soft consistency. (Sorry TMI). I feel I have to go 2-3 times until I actually feel empty 🙈. I’ll gives me such anxiety about being too far from a toilet. as when I feel like I have to go I have to go, which in turns fills me with anxiety. Viscous cycle really as I know anxiety triggers IBS. I’m slowly learning what my trigger foods are. Just such a frustrating condition. GPS have recommended mebeverine for cramps so I’ll try this. Any advice from anyone, or does this sound at all familiar? Thanks in advance

Yes, it sounds very familiar. Classic IBS. When you have been the two or three times, does it go away?

The majority of the time yes it does. When I seem to be having a flare up I just feel like I’m having a nervous belly all day. Food mainly triggers it or if I’m super anxious by anything. I’ve noticed I seem to have become intolerant to Diet Coke now. Thanks for your reply

Something I used to do when mine was more similar to what you are experiencing. When I thought I had got to the end, if it was still feeling a bit dodgy, I would take 1 dose of kaolin and morphine. It's not so easy to get hold of now but I managed to get some on-line recently. Otherwise probably pepto-bismol or imodium would do the same. I found rather than keep thinking what's my tummy doing, I could tell myself it would be okay because I had taken some medication. But only do it occassionally (once it's feeling like most of it is out) or your tummy might get too used to it.

Hi Densar, I shouldn't worry if I were you. I wish I could get a good control on it like you seem to have. It all sounds normal to me and I wouldn't worry if I were you, I think you're doing great. 😍

Thank you for you’re reply. Some days I don’t think I’m doing so great. I think anxiety has a massive impact on it, or making me anxious about it. Hard to know which one triggers it! Drs have asked for a stool sample so I’ve sent that off. I think they are looking for any inflammation. Hope you’re doing ok
