I am so tired of enduring this every single morning. I wake up with slight cramping and immediately have a bowel movement. Often formed but loose. Followed by another BM 30 minutes later. And maybe one or 2 more depending on the day all before 12.
I'm breastfeeding my 8 month old and have 2 other kids to look after. Having to run to the bathroom and endure the cramps is getting to be too much. I just want to feel healthy again
I'm currently taking Florastor probiotic and I thought it was working because for maybe a week I was having 1 BM or 2 at the most but now it's agony again. does anyone have any suggestions please?

Have you tried taking imodium or pepto-bismol after the first or second trip to the loo. I guess you would have to check with your GP if it's okay to take these while breastfeeding!
You've just described my life 😐 except I don't have young children or babies at home now. I'm so sorry I have no suggestions to offer. And you obviously have no time for relaxation techniques either. All I can say is roll with it, the kids will grow, life will settle down, and so will your IBS xx
This is serious in the sense that you are losing valuable nutrients and so is your bairn. Please report this phenomenon to your medic or health visitor without delay. You need a professional to care for you both. Stay on this forum and let us know how you get on. Con amore Bx
Have you tried Intesticare? - It is herbal but still best to check with yout GP if you are breast feeding. I find this very helpful for calming the pain down
Do you take any antispasmodic tablets I take merbentyl 20 mg, you can only get them by prescription from the doctors. But if your breastfeeding you really need to speak to the doctor I'm sure they will be able to recomend something to help you.
Over the years I've tried Mebeverin, Buscopan and Colpermin and I always go back to Merbentyl it's also called Dicycloverine 20 it's the only one that works for me. It's all down to personal preference I also take paracetamol. Don't take Neurofen it's bad for people with ibs. I also don't eat wheat or lactose anymore the doctor suggested this and I think it helps me. If your having a flare up I eat a very restricted diet toast, plain biscuits, plain fish and rice and bananas. I also find that mint tea helps and also decaffeinated tea or coffee. I hope that this is helpful for you.
Thank you that’s really helpful, I was in a lot of discomfort yesterday & the last few days & really appreciate help .
I’ve ordered some Merbentyl from the doctor , so I’m going to try it when it comes as the Colpermin isn’t doing anything.
I’ve also cut out gluten & lactose too & minimum caffeine, as I’m doing the FODMAP diet & I don’t take any painkillers but that’s useful to know not to take Nurofen , thanks .
Your doctor sounds better than mine who has no clue about IBS .
Let me know if it helps? I'm having a flare up at the moment and am getting a lot of pain especially in the bathroom I've had to lie on the floor a couple of times as I thought I was going to pass out!! Does anybody else have to do this?
I will try your recommendations thanks. I’m still being diagnosed this week even though I’ve suffered for years. Codeine helps with the spasms and loose bowels. I usually take one if I’m going on a journey.
