Alone?

Hi guys.

I know that I usually turn to this forum when I'm low about my ibs and chances are I will wake in the morning and forget this feeling.

But I am just so tired of my ibs making me feeling so alone. Its hard to explain this feeling fully. Because I'm not alone. I have people around me who do understand. But the ibs just makes me feel so isolated.

And I always turn to here because I know there will be someone feeling the exact same way.

So here I am, 2am with a hot water bottle on my tummy after the fybogel that the Dr prescribed, has failed. In fact its caused the opposite desired effect.

Can anyone relate.. At all?

I hope you have managed to sleep and are feeling some what better! I completely understand and you are right. You are not alone as people are around you and support you and others are going through the same as you, but that doesn't stop you feeling alone when you are sitting on the toilet for an hour or sitting in bed at 2am in pain. Sometimes it's hard to be positive.

Just remember that the feeling of being alone will pass. You are NOT alone. You have love and support from friends and family and everyone on this site. It may not bring you comfort right now, but it will when the feeling passes.

I wish you all the best

I'm up with a bowel movement at night to clean up. This happens every night and means that I cannot sleep with anyone. I have not had any orgasm since I've lost control.

I had taken fybogel for a few years for diverticulitis- it worked to some extent in keeping regular bowel movement but it does this by bulking up your stool. I then started to have constipation problems and a gastroenterologist suggested I used macrogel. This is the same as they give you prior to bowel examination only as a small daily amount. I find this easier to vary on a daily basis depending on how the bowel is working. It comes in sachets which I empty into a jar and take 2 teaspoons a day. It works different to fybogel by loosening your stools. If your bowel becomes too loose I just reduce the next days intake. Hope this helps as I know how difficult this can be.

Here i am loaded with buscopan and paracetamol with a heat pad on my timmy too. And its 2pm Sunday. I think fybogel takes up to 3 days. I also pop an anusol up there to help things slip out easily in meantime.
