Sorry but I’ve had sticky pooh and loose stools for a few days and lots of wind . Not changed my meds one sachet laxido at night and constella 290 in morning . I m in pain and feel a bit sicky . I did get put on a blood pressure tablet amlodipine 5mg ias well . Any advice . As doctors just say eat fruit veg and drink plenty . I asked to referred to see someone . But doctor said because I had all the tests and Ive got Diverticular and scar tissue and redundant bowel . I will be low down on the list for being referred as the virus has cause a backlog of other cases . . Any advice as fed up with constant battle .

Check for SIBO. This does cause sticky BMs. A gastroenterologist ban diagnose this through a breath test. Most GPs have never heard of it.

As you say doctor wasn’t sure so ended up asking for stool sample , and getting referred for another scan . But put on antibiotics see what happens 😟

Hi sorry to hear your problems. I would still ask GP for a referral to gastroenterologist even if there is a long waiting list you will still be on list. Eating loads of fruit veg yes is healthy but some fruits and veg can cause diarrhoea. As b1b1b1 says check for sibo. Mention to GP if no luck still ask for referral. Wish you well.

Going to phone tomorrow as pain is bad and not easing at all today .took buscopan and peppermint caplets to see if that would ease the pain . No luck so far .

I’m sorry to hear you’re having problems, I’d watch how much fruit & veg you’re having as they won’t help with diarrhoea, try cutting them down .

Have a look at the FODMAP diet it does help settle the gut .

Keep on at the doctor for a referral .

Went to go today and she has asked for a stool sample and is referring me for more tests . But as she says it will take awhile . Plus she gave me antibiotics incase there is a infection . But if I start passing blood oor my pain gets worse to phone 111. My urine was clear . So see what happens this week .

You're right there - NH S are definitely dragging their heals.

That is one lucky thing about the US. Doctors have continued to see patients throughout covid, as they don't make any money otherwise. A lot of precautions have been taken, however. If a doctor gets a salary, now matter what, they can get lazy and this can cause patients a lot of suffering and cause serious illnesses to be missed.

I see your point, but the dowm side of having to pay for everything is that you don't know if they're seeing you and sending you for all kinds of tests just for the money! There's no happy medium
