Hi all, I mainly take a buscopan when I feel the cramping begin and it’s very hit and miss as to wether they work or not. I was prescribed mebeverine a while ago but haven’t taken them in ages as the three times a day thing didn’t really fit into my routine. Any other recommendations please?

I take mebeverine once as soon as I get up and then before my tea. Good luck x
Mebeverine didn't work for me. I am currently on Amitryptaline. Also am trying a digestive enzyme and if it's really bad and I'm going out I have an Imodium instant.
I take mebeverine 3x a day, this is the second time I’ve been on it and this is the secon time it’s worked for 2 weeks then not at all. Buscapan does nothing for me I’m on codine as well, still in severer pain but this is the first week in over a year (and a hospital stay) that I’ve not had Diarrhoea so I’m gonna say it works.... kinda.I’m not convinced I have IBS as I’m vomiting and loosing a stone in a week then the following week it’s back on. The specialist is baffled and said “well we will go with IBS as nothing is open to do proper tests and we will hope you don’t end up in hospital again”
That’s my vent and probably no use to you.
I hope you find something helps you!
I used to take mebeverine before food & it worked for me. Now, I don't need them as I follow a Low Fodmap diet & rarely have bad flare ups. My GP referred me to a dietician, who analysed a weeks food diary & guided me through the diet. It helps you identify which food sugar groups cause symptoms. For me it's always been wheat, but now lactose, onions, garlic, sweetcorn & raisins, so far. Good luck
Hello, I have been taking Meb for the past 4 years, every day, 3 times a day and it works amazingly. In order to see the desired results, you do need to take it 3 times a day. I definitely see a decline and more ibs flare ups when I've been slack due to work and only take it twice a day. Hope this helps.
I don't have any problems with mebeverine
