irritable bowel syndrome and gastrointestinal reflux

I think that my irritable bowel syndrome and gastrointestinal reflux have both decided to have a flare up. Double the fun! I have three jobs and today I'm scheduled to work at two of them and really don't feel able to after disturbed nights and painful days. I don't like phoning in absent as I know that my colleagues will have to do my work as well as their own I'm glad to have safe spaces like here to talk about tummies!

I am so sorry to hear your are so poorly right now & the work predicament you find yourself in. I have suffered with similar problems all my life and it’s so hard getting through each day sometimes. I am a ‘guilt’ sufferer too & have forced myself into work many times when I should really be tucked up in bed. I always put others first and myself last, but I find the more I do this, the more I am taken advantage of. I cannot help you make the decision about whether to go to work whilst feeling so rough, but I hope if you did, that your colleagues were able to give a little more support to you, to help you get through & if you didn’t, I hope that you managed to get some rest. I find each time I have a reflux flare that it lasts longer than the last one & just when I think it will never ease, it does. It’s no fun living with permanent health conditions. I hope you feel better soon 🤗

Hi sorry to hear how unwell you have been. I am the same at the moment and like you I have to work. I have been also expensive bad cramping and reflux and awake most of the night. I am constantly having to take Imodium to get me through the day as otherwise I am on toilet all day long. I am getting so depressed as this has been going on for 3months now the longest flare up I have ever had. I hope you start feeling better soon here if u need to talk.
