I've been diagnosed with hashimoto hypothyroidism and diabetes. I have Been put on 50mcg levothyroxine. Been told that good nutrition can help mitigate a hashimoto flare up. Anyone know what a flare up is as I haven't had many if at all any symptoms.?

Hashimotos is a condition where the immune system attacks the thyroid organ. It is an autoimmune responce. As i understand this, I had this too, once it has happened it doesn't happen again, you don't get flare ups. However, over the years my thyroid has shrivelled up and disappeared. I am on 125 mg per day. Nutrition is always good but doesnt really play a part much in thyroid problems other than to avoid certain things that contain iodine.

Hashimoto's as in the thyroid condition? If yes, you might want to post your question at Thyroid UK which has many members -
