Aargh! IBS flare up

Just off loading so don't worry about responding. Barely a week after first solid stool in months I've another flare up.

It had been a difficult week work wise but I was having a nice day gardening. After a few hours though I felt that urgent urge we all know so well.

I sat on the toilet and after several loud farts, liquid dribbled from my hole, mostly clear with bits of poo

It's been like that since. Had to sleep in Tena pants just in case and woke up to a soggy mess.

Here we go again.

Stress doesn't exactly help does it but its extremely frustrating when that happens after you think you are making progress!

Could you pls shed more light on the dribbled liquid because I also experience that a lot, sometimes when I feel the urge to go, I sometimes pass out liquids with loud farts which sometimes I can't explain, is it also IBS related?

Yes passing mucus is a common symptom esp of IBS D I think. I have had it before but never this bad. I get wet smelly farts as well which is difficult. It usually passes after a few days if I'm careful what I eat

Used to be fir a few days per month but if Kate they have lasted weeks albeit not the same symptoms. Usually a few days of passing mucus then very soft poos for weeks.

After many years of managing IBS etc I have had a two week spell of the runs. Maybe it`s stress because I am waiting for a couple of ops but it aint very nice.

I was fine for years with now and again a few problems but 18 months ago I picked up an infection and after the antibiotics things haven`t been right.

It’s so tough learning to live with IBS. I have had a rough weekend suffering bad bouts where you barely make it to the loo. Six bouts yesterday alone of chronic diarrhoea. Makes one tired and despondent such is life.
