Looking for some advice?

Hello,

I have been having upper right stomach pain and vomiting after eating for over a year now. I dont have any heart burn, indigestion or acid reflux, just a constant ache/pain in upper stomach everyday with swelling but normal bowel movements.

Ultrasound showed a small liver cyst but was told this wasn't causing my problems. CT scan showed appendicitis..4 weeks ago I had my appendix and part of my bowel removed but still having these stomach and sickness issues. Also a hot burning sensation started all up the right side of my back.

I was given lansoprazole to take once a day. They worked for 4 days then the sickness and pain came back.

Blood tests came back clear, now on a waiting list for an endoscopy.

Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks

Could be gastritis causing the dyspepsia. The endoscopy will tell you. Maybe some pro biotics would help. Not the actimel type stuff! That’s proper nasty and can make things worse. No idea how they get away with selling that junk

I have upper right stomach pain constantly. No vomiting though. Endoscopy showed I had Barrett’s esophagus. Never heard of it. It’s where stomach cells get into your esophagus. Also hiatal hernia where part of your stomach goes into your esophagus. So far treatment is with acid blockers. GERD causes this. Hope you get some answers. Endoscopy should tell you the story. Good luck.

Hi, could be a hiatus hernia, I get discomfort/pain from it, no vomiting but very bloated and lots of wind. Also maybe gallstones? They can cause lots of problems, I’ve got them too! Hopefully you’ll get some answers when you’ve had the endoscopy 🤞🏼

Hi I have been have pains about 4” below the right breast for over 30 years, I found if I got my soluble and insoluble fibre in my diet working together it made a vast improvement, to start with I took a tea spoon of lactulose each evening just to get things moving smoothly, just because you are going to the toilet ok each morning does not mean things are moving correctly, I also follow the Bristol stool chart and keep a daily diary of my toilet meals and pain, if I get a flare up I look at the diary and after a while you will see what to avoid, I have had tubes put in parts of me have loads of test done but no-one ever explain the different fibre soluble and insoluble. Getting the balance correct will make a massive difference. I am a 57 year old male who has often put my life on hold due to erratic toilet issues but I can honestly say since I found out about the fibre it been a lot better, look up soluble insoluble fibre on the NHS web site I think you will be surprised of what foods are in each bracket. Also buscopan tablets do help with the pain as do drinking lots of water, so first a tea spoon lactulose each evening , I found it made my tummy on the right gurgle and help with the pain, it will not cause diarrhoea then after a few days of keeping your diary things should improve. Not forgetting the Bristol chart, look it up on google.
