Do you use Buscopan? Does it help? I am under the impression it's used to relieve spasms but I can't find any research on whether it might aggravate IBSc.

Buscopan. Does it work for you?
If you have IBS-C I would have thought buscopan might slow things down i.e. make constipation worse. When you say spasms are you experiencing pain?
I have IBS-C and intestinal pain. Linaclotide for IBS-C and Alflorex probiotic have helped me with this pain.
I have IBS-D and buscopan was hit and miss with me. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. I got sick and tired of it especially as it costs quite a bit of money. I found Senocalm instead and it works wonders! The only problem is you can only buy it from certain shops so I would research it online first if you interested.
I am using it for painful esophagus sphincter muscle spasms. To be honest I don't think it is working yet as I am still having them. Been about 3 weeks now. Will be getting more advice from UK doctors in a few weeks. No other side effects.
hi there, I take Buscopan only when I need it. Yes, it will help with cramping but it doesn't do anything to control the rush feeling to defecate. You may be out for a walk, you know you have to go the pressure is building but no pain. Doesn't do much for gas pain that can come with IBS-C
Buscopan can cause constipation. But perhaps only if you take more than one. The biggest thing is to drink more water, take the Buscopan and you should be cramping free and bowel works better too.
