Hi guys. Hope everyone is doing fine. My flare seems to be under control. Getting better everyday. Just a general question. Do people who have IBS manage to lose weight or gain? I have been overweight for a number of years. But after IBS, I have found that I have managed to lose weight due to eating better( have to ). Let me know your experience.

IBS and weight

I'm so pleased you are doing much better. My weight basically stays the same as I do exercise a fair bit, 5 days out of 7. My diet is fairly good, I tend to work around the low fodmap diet as the diet basically changed my life.
Hi Laxmik. I'm the same I use to weigh over 11stone now I weigh 9st 2. Weight loss due to healthier eating. Most foods are grilled or oven. I still cook homemade chips. I eat salads and veg and fruit. I have sourdough rye bread . Drink tea water orange juice and red wine. I still have the occasional take away. If I have a flare up its normally because I ate fried food which is very rare. I have a diseased gall bladder which needs to be removed but when it doesnt cause a problem I just careful. I dont eat after 6.30 pm last cup of tea 7.30. Hope you keep well.
I have definitely lost weight as when I have a flare up I struggle to eat until medication starts to work.
