This isn’t IBS related but my dad goes into surgery tomorrow morning because a tumour was found at the base of his spine and he’s having to have it removed to see if it’s cancerous or not or else he will become paralysed if they leave it. I’m really nervous that something will happen in his surgery and he will end up dying or becoming paralysed and so is he and he’s acting as if he thinks something will happen by giving me all this money and telling me to look after my sister if anything happens etc and I don’t know how to feel about it. Does anyone know about spinal surgery/ has had it themselves and been okay or know anything about success rates and how likely it is that something will happen? I haven’t even been able to see him because he’s had to stay in due to COVID and I don’t live with him

I'm sure everything will be fine. Your dad is just preparing for the worst (it's what parents do), which is very unlikely I should think. Best not to think about it all. I know it's difficult but try and put it out of your mind. By this time tomorrow it will all be over and you will be able to relax.
Hope everything went well for your dad 🙏🏾👍
