Hi I’m new here . For the last couple of months I have been constantly feeling nauseas . When I cook tea I’m hungry , sit down to eat and after 3 mouthful I feel sick , like I can’t swallow it.
I have been on Zoloft since October last year due to my panic disorder.
I suffer from IBS and diverticulitis, have had it for years .
Does anyone else feel like this with food ?

Hi ive have had similar issues for the last couple of years with flare ups. I find i cant cook some raw meats it makes me want to vom as well as nausea, so my other half cooks these meals. Have you tried mebeverine? I take these 20 minutes before meals, it helps me to tolerate food and stops some of the cramps whilst i eat. I also have cyclizine 50mg tablets to help with the nausea, helps most of the time, if i know im having a bad day, il take it about an hour before dinner and it makes dinner bearable.
Have you spoken to your gp about it? They might be able to offer a solution to help?
They basically help with spasms in the stomache. You can take 3 a day, 20 minutes before breakfast, lunch and dinner. They work quite well when you take them regularly.
the thought of most food makes me feel nauseated so I am limited to what I eat. right now I am eating a lot of watercress. I can't stand the thought of red meat but chicken and chicken soup are okay. I am hoping it stopped but in the middle of the night I was feeling nauseated.
Good. Just to add, please look at the side effects of any drugs you are taking. Take some control of your health, so that you know what is happening to your body. I copied this from a website about the side effects of Zoloft as follows..
“See also Warning section.
Nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, increased sweating, diarrhea, upset stomach, or trouble sleeping may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.”
I just googled Zoloft and one of the side effects is nausea. Sorry you are suffering. Maybe your medication needs adjusting, speak to your doctor. I’m not a fan off adding more drugs before trying to work out the cause of the problem. Make tea in a pan with flax seeds, ginger, lemon, star anise, honey and strain it. The strained flax is soothing. Also, try eating easily digested foods, like clear vegetable or chicken bone broth with white rice. I hope you can sort out the problem xx
