Does anyone know if you can still get Kaolin and Morphine in the UK, and if so where from?

Hi Maureen

I've just had a look and have found this:

chemist-4-u.com/care-kaolin...

Hope this helps.

Take care

Thanks Alicia, but they are out of stock as are all of the other on-line sites I've tried. I think they just don't make it anymore. I will ask my doctor if they have access to any but I am not going to hold my breath. Maureen.

Typical. I remember Kaolin and Morphine very well. Have you thought about asking your local pharmacy(pharmacies)?

I could get my husband to ask, I'm not really going out at all at the moment.

I'm sorry you're not going out much at the moment and hope that your husband can find some for you. I see that BabsyWabsy has mentioned the Collis Brown's Mixture, I also remember this one so definitely worth a try.

Take care

My Mum used to always keep Collis Brown's Mixture in her medicine cupboard. If you scroll down the page Alicia has highlighted , you will see it and it is in stock.

The active ingredients are morphine hydrochloride and peppermint oil.

Yes, I used to take it on bad days (when I eventually escaped from the toilet) when my son was little.

Sorry to be a naysayer but please read this dire warning by NICE before you buy any more Kaolin and Morphine bnf.nice.org.uk/drug/kaolin...

I used to buy kaolin and calcium carbonate tablets from Savers but they've been stopped. Nobody seems to be selling anything with Kaolin in now.

I used to buy it from my local chemist but I had to ask for it and sign a book, not had to use it for a couple of years so not sure if the rules have changed..
