I’ll try keep it short, lots of blood with bowl movements to the point it will drip for 40 mins and has sometimes required 2 towels to stop the bleeding.
I went to hospital to A&E and they said they can’t do anything as bleeding has stopped and I have piles which I was shocked about. This has been on and off for a year now and despite a colonoscopy, (3 Polyps) I have been told it’s piles.
I find it very hard to believe that! Any ideas?
Thanks

my sister had the same problem, everytime she went to the bathroom lots of blood, so she had an appointment with a specialist everything was ok, but she was told she had colites and cannot eat green leafs vegetables, i am not saying that is the same as your problem, but the best thing is to see a specialist, i hope you will feel better, take care
Hi, thank you for your response. I haven't been diagnosed with any of that despite the investigations suspecting it. I'll have to wait for gastro again but thanks for suggesting. Take care.
I'm not sure when your Colonoscopy was or how old you are but if your botty cam was a while ago I would go back to your GP and asked to be referred for another one.
Have you had any blood test to check for anaemia. My folate was very low and B12 bumbling along the lower level. The blood count itself could be ok but you could still be anaemic if these are low.
I'm having absorption issues that are being treated as they come along.
I have had cam dome in the last 12 months and not due another one for 2 years now. They said bloods came back fine on a few occasions which I was really surprised about. The only thing they found were piles but I find it very hard to believe.
Glad you have found a good answer for your problem though. Take care
I haven't found an answer sadly to the cause either just a way to battle through the symptoms and at least there is a reason for some of them.
In regards to your blood tests the folate and B12 are specific and are not often checked on a full blood count. I would ask your GP to see if these have been checked and also vit D as most are low in this due to living in the northern hemisphere
