I was diagnosed with IBS a while ago. I suffer with constipation and diarrhoea on and off. I'm always bloated and in pain practically all the time with my stomach. I have nausea after everything I eat, and sometimes have vomiting too. Last week, I was in extreme pain and vomiting non-stop, so made the decision to go to A&E. I had a chest x-ray and it showed the bloat and air in my stomach, causing my ribs to develop differently. The doctor even questioned if it was colitis? I'm really confused now and don't know what I should be thinking. I also regularly have mucus when I'm constipated. I take movicol, mebeverine, lactulose, buscopan and anti-sickness meds, although they don't always work. Does anyone have any idea? Thank you xx

Does this sounds like IBS or IBD?
What tests did your GP conduct to diagnose IBS?
He just went by symptoms to diagnose me. I was monitored over a period of time. I also had an ultrasound, which revealed my constipation. Hope you're well
Suggest you ask your GP refers you too a Gastro for a colonoscopy, blood and stool tests only then will you know if it's IBS or IBD. IBS is only diagnosed by a process of elimination testing. Things are gradually moving regards lockdown and hospital treatment so get yourself on the waiting list. Thank you for asking I am OK, and good luck to you
This sounds awful Im sorry. It could be Crohns? Sounds like what my friend has. Also - what food did you eat before getting sick?
Thank you so much! I'm speaking to the doctor today, so I will question if it's Crohns. I really hope you and your friend are okay. I ate completely normally. It started in the middle of the night. I had pasta for dinner. Keep safe and have a lovely day xx
