Does Align help IBS?

About to start taking align, and was wondering if anyone else has, and if it has helped them. Also if anyone has had any side effects?

My GI doctor recommended Align a few years ago. I took it for years and didn't see much of an effect. No bad side effects, though. The only thing that I can truly say helps my IBS is Mirilax. I take it a few times a week.

Thanks 💕 the align I got is for 9 weeks, nothing long term. I’ll definitely look into Mirilax 😊

Align (from the US) has the same probiotic culture as Alflorex (from the UK). I am taking Alflorex and it has done wonders for me. I am far more tolerant of foods including FODMAPs and it has reduced the pain I have been in considerably. I had no side effects at all and I saw an improvement in just over 1 week. However, everyone is different - some people may get side effects initially which should wear off. Some people may take 4-6 weeks or more to see benefit. Good luck with it.

That’s great it’s helps so much for you. Thanks so much, I just started today. I live in Canada but I think the Align is the same as the USA.

I tried align before my IBS accelerated to ischemic colitis. It did not help. After sending a night in emergency, the gastroenterologist recommended a drug called Constella (linocote) and daily does of Restoralax. This did help/

I honestly find it hard to stick to the IBS diets. So if I get an attack, its my own fault I feel. I tried everything imagined, then said I need to live not survive.I get lots of gas all the time. I bought Align , expensive and I got it home and never took it given my husband says sounds like you can't pronoun half of this? Sounds like its all chemicals. I diverted back to FGard (purple) and IB Guard (green) and alternate them 2 to 3 x daily along with DGL chewable liquorice digestion chews.

I tried Miralax (ugh) but it was very problematic loose or not at all. And its propylene gycol used on airplane wings as a de icer I believe, still whatever its more chemicals . I use now what I said and not a problem unless I am really foolish about food and drink(alcohol ,soda excess) I also use Mastic capsules from Chios ( Mastiha ) Natural Therapy protection which the greeks have used for centuries. (a greek friend told me about it) On occasion I have also used food grade diamataus earth.
