I had a rough year since last May with ibs and suffered terribly with ibs d* for around 6 months from May-Jan. Since 2020 I've definitely gotten better, especially since lockdown and leaving uni (STRESS) but will confess my 'normal' is ibs c* but I never get bloating, just a day-gap of not going. But since yesterday I woke up, ate my malted wheat cereal with a tiny bit of milk and felt very unsettled. I went to the bathroom and it was a mix of textures, I cleared my constipation but it was also loose. I had an appetite all day and didnt need to go again but I feel terribly bloated, like my stomach has a huge bubble.. I had a very stressful weekend (i livestream as im a singer and did get very nervous) but would normally suffer ibs d* in an anxious sitch. I ate some chilli the night before last but didnt face any gas, heartburn or d*so its all confusing. Is this an ibs thing?

Bloating and sensitive stomach
Should also say, I used to get terrible bloating a week before my period but I came off around 2 weeks ago but did get very emotional this week so could this be hormonal?
Hey there, sorry you’re having such a rough time. I have had IBS-C for years and before I was managing it with Laxido, I wouldn’t go for days and always has diarrhoea and so much pain. It’ll still happen if I don’t manage the constipation.
However, I’m wondering if the wheat cereal has caused the other symptoms? I am completely wheat free and that has helped me a lot. X
Thanks for this. Means alot. ♥️
I cant fancy wheat at all despite it being my everyday thing so perhaps Im developing an allergy. Im still not right today after 3 days but finding it hard to seperate it from anxiety. I do livestreams as im a singer and today woke nervous aa Im under rehearsed for my set tonight(due to feeling crapoy yesterday) and its kicked off some gas and loose bm* feelings and a racing heart. But even before that, I had a very sensitive stomach ALL day and jabbing. Gonna put my money on a bad flare up or just anxiety or potentially a virus. Not had d* though which would justify an illness
You say you can't fancy wheat at all - yet in your original post you said 'yesterday I woke up, ate my malted wheat cereal with a tiny bit of milk'!
I was diagnosed with IBS in January this year (2020) and the nurse advised me to go on a gluten free, lactose free and a low FODMAP diet. This includes not eating anything with wheat in it and having lactose free milk or soya, almond, oat milk alternatives. I was prescribed Mebeverine but have not taken any for about a month. Instead I have been taking Bimuno pre-biotic powders and sticking to the low FODMAP, gluten free and lactose free diet. I've also been eating little and often rather than eating a big main meal. And all these things together seems to have controlled my IBS quite well
