The power of water

I have had mixed IBS (IBS-C dominant) for several years. This year I have seen some big improvements and a lot of that is down to drinking water. I remember when I used to see doctors and specialists and they would ask me if I drink plenty of water. I used to look at them like they were stupid "of course I drink enough water" I would reply and feel almost insulted. My partner bought me a water bottle and it has little lines down it to show you how to to drink each hour. You need to have two full bottles each day between 9-5. I used to drink water but in big gulps just a few times a day. This new bottle has made a huge difference to my IBS :-)

Ooh that's very interesting and thank you for sharing, what bottle you have if you don't mind me asking?

So pleased it's made a difference.

My young daughter (10) occasionally has C, and it is largely driven by how much she drinks. If you're not drinking enough for your body to work you will extract more water from your guts leaving your guts deficient.

I'm really pleased that this is working for your daughter. I find for me it's the regularity of drinking water that also really helps. A few swigs every 20 minutes instead of downing large drinks every three hours. I aim for 2 litres of water between 9am - 5pm

You gave me great idea! I downloaded app which reminds me to drink water every hour or so, and counts how many i had, because I am almost never thirsty. I knew that I drink too little, but im suprised how little it actually is. Thanks for an idea :)
