Are you asking about radish? Seriously- it’s an unpleasant pungent onion type thing - if I spot it hidden in a salad I remove it, horrible - stays on the breath so I’m pretty sure it’s not helpful for ibs - grow it , gift it - personally, if radishes were extinct - I honestly would niether notice nor care - but if growing it matters to you - get radishing !!!!

Hi, I know that’s low FODMAP. I’ve eaten it but can’t really say if it’s made my IBS worse as I’m always bad in the mornings.

Every food intolerance is personal and it isn't always just FODMAPS. I don't think I can tolerate radish. Perhaps test some from the supermarket before going the whole hog and growing your own.

I have never had an issue with radish, or horseradish, which does give your sinuses a work out so I suppose it will be trial and error. I hadn't thought of growing mooli. It is often cooked which might be easier to tolerate.

Might be good for me then as my sinuses are always blocked

Oh gosh, I love home grown organic proper radishes!

They are listed as "Low FODMAP" so technically ought to be fine for IBS.

But...I was naive when I first got diagnosed with IBS, and imagined I'd be able to happily eat everything on the Low Fodmap list. Nope. I tried radishes and they didn't suit me.

I tried again, steaming them slightly next time. Same result.

It doesn't mean that will happen with you. IBS sufferers report completely different experiences with foods.

I'd say -give them a try! Try a small piece first and wait a day or two, to see if your gut is happy with that. Then try slightly larger pieces, and do the same thing. You should soon know if they're right for you or not.

I miss radishes!! Good luck.
