Hi guys , i wonder if any of you experience nerve pain with your IBS, like when you feel your bowels moving around and doing the crazy stuff that they do , is there any kind of other pain you feel.
I seem to be feeling niggles all over and im getting myself proper anxious.
I have also at the moment got a lovely bout of costochoridritis, which is really not helping .
Thanks in advance

Absolutely. I have been diagnosed with IBS-C and visceral hypersensitivity, which is intestinal nerve pain. I'd experience it as a crawling pain sensation from 2am onwards when the colon wakes up to prepare for a bowel movement in the morning. It is caused by a loss of neurons in pain control centres of the brain and the first line treatment is low dose 10mg Amitriptyline. I couldn't tolerate this and I am on Linaclotide for IBS-C with nerve pain. It reduced the pain considerably, but not 100%. I have recently also started on Alflorex probiotic which has been studied for IBS and a free 2 months is available on subscribing to theibsnetwork.org. I can't quite believe it, but alongside the Linaclotide, at the moment I am pain free! In terms of feeling niggles all over, I can imagine your other condition could be exacerbating things? Perhaps worth a chat with your GP about your symptoms.
I couldn't get on with buscopan myself (it gave me palpitations), though lots of others seem to use it. Defo worth a visit to the GP - to discuss your symptoms and the meds especially if either the buscopan or omperazole are new for you.
Yes most of the time. Any feeling put me on edge. At night sometimes I just lie there as it's all moving around. I feel like mine is over sensitive like I feel every part of digestion instead of just feeling the need to go.
