Hi Cimmy!! I was on them a few months ago. I didn’t have too many side effects. Mainly I had a weird taste in my mouth and diarrhea that subsided after a few days.

Hi Krn210, thank you for your reply. Had my antibiotics changed, just couldn’t handle them, onwards and upwards hopefully

Hi Cimmy, I too was on these tablets along with amoxicillin a few months ago for a diverticular flare up. I had bad stomach pain and diarrhoea and felt poorly all the time I was taking them. The pain stopped after i finished the tablets but I had very bad diarrhoea for weeks after which finally stopped with loperamide.

Don't know if it was the diverticulitis or the tablets which made me feel so poorly but wouldn't want to repeat the experience.

What sort of side effects are you experiencing?

Hope you are feeling a little better.

Hi Purpletara, I just feel so poorly, bad stomach pain, nausea, bit breathless, but don’t know if that’s because of my anxiety, just feel like I’m going to hit the deck, not good. I did go to A&E and they did bloods which came back normal and a stomach X-ray, they have changed my antibiotics to Amoxiclav, so hopefully things will start improving. Hate being like this. Thank you for your reply very much appreciate feeling I’m not alone

Hi Cimmy, hope the change of antibiotics works. If you can, stay in today and look after yourself. Give your body time to heal. If that means duvet and film time then do it! I’ve found a hot water bottle on the tummy is comforting and helps with pain. Have plenty of drinks to keep yourself hydrated. I know how you feel and how lonely it can feel when your poorly but people in this group are very supportive so don’t hesitate to text, even if you just need to moan! We’ve all been there at one time or another! Hugs to you and hope you feel better soon,
