I am 18 and suffer with endometriosis and IBS. I’ve now been vomiting every day for 9 months, I get bad lower stomach pain and diarrhea too. Does this sound like flare ups that other people experience? I’ve recently been given mebeverine to try which is helping but not stopped the vomiting and I’m desperate. Thank you in advance for any help xx

Vomiting
What did your doctor say?
Hi - I have endometriosis and IBS too so I feel for you. However, neither should cause vomiting. This sounds like something else and I think you need to chase your GP over this (ideally with a specialist referral to see a gasteroentologist at the hospital to get the right tests, treatment and advice.
I’ve seen a gastroenterologist who’s done tests to rule out acute issues but whenever I contact GPS/specialists they’re reluctant to take me on. Do you mind me asking what you use as management? Xx
That's a horrible situation. I can only suggest being persistent to get the right appointments and follow ups. Have you had an endoscopy? You can also use the search facility on this forum to see if others have previously had your symptoms which may provide some further advice.
For my endo, taking the mini-pill every day is brilliant for me as it completely stops my periods and so about 95% of the pain has gone away. I did need a operation to remove a larger fibroid too as it was causing part of my bowel and womb to stick together.
I used to be like that, the vomiting was worse late evening and into the night, I have IBS but I put the vomiting down to bad stresses I was going though at the time, but I also found I could not tolerate tap water and had to change to find a spring water that suited me as all bottled waters are different. I was told to drink plenty with the diarrhoea but it was making me vomit.
Vomiting isn't a normal sign of IBS. You'll need to keep insisting for a referral to find out why you are vomiting. They can't leave you like this.
It sounds like you are highly intolerant to something. The first thing to try is cut out all dairy for a couple of weeks. You might have become lactose intolerant or dairy protein intolerant. You will need to check all ingredients in your foods for it. If that doesnt help then you need to exclude something else. The next biggest two intolerances are yeast and wheat. You also need to follow the low Fodmap diet which gives a list of low, soluabke fibre foods but I would steer clear of porridge. Also don't eat fruit, tomatoes or nuts for 2 weeks. See if any of this helps. I suffered similar for 7 years until I discovered I was lactose intolerant. I later discovered i was also milk protein intolerant which meant lacto free foods were also a no no.
I never used to vomit with a bad flare up but over the last 3 years it happens every time. I spoke to my GP last week and he said he could give me something to help but then when I said it happens every now and then he said he couldn't give me anything but suggested more fibre in my diet. I have a good diet so have elected to take a fibre drink every night. I hope you can find something which helps as I know how debilitating it is and also how you stress about going anywhere in case you have a flare up. My doctor also suggested Cognitive Behavioural Therapy so I will give that a try to get some coping mechanisms in place. I wish you lots of luck.
