Gone haywire

I thought I had my IBS under pretty good control. I'm very carefull what I eat, but 2 weeks ago I had an unstoppable attack! most embarrassing, then this last weekend, I really had to run to the loo! I had not had anything that should have caused it! I now feel back to square 1! and despondent. Has anyone else had this happen please? I did take Immodium after it happened, which stopped any more, thankfully.

Unfortunately IBS is weird, one day eat a safe food, next day it’s a reactive one, two weeks later it’s safe again. The only consistent thing with this ba$terd disease is it’s inconsistency

IBS comes and goes. Don’t get disappointed. Stick to what helps you. Eventually it will get back in track.

Oh I’m really sorry. It’s so discouraging when we think we have it under control, then it goes and does this 😕. How long have you had IBS? Do you know what your usual food triggers are? It might be helpful to you to keep a really detailed, daily food diary and how you feel after eating each food item (including hot and cold drinks). You might just find something consistent in there....

I really hope you get back on track xx

I have had it about 4 years. My trigger is fibre, so I am very careful all the time, Bit paranoid at the moment, so steering clear of all sorts. Thank you for your reply

I’m not surprised you’re paranoid - it gets to a stage that you just don’t know what to eat at all. Every mouthful feels like a huge risk! Fibre doesn’t do well for me either. Have you ever considered cutting out wheat? Xx

I don't eat any brown bread of any description, just white, horrid tasteless stuff! Nothing fiberous at all. Thank you for your help
