What happened here?!

Well, after around two months of rocks and intermittent "normal" ish bms** , I had pretty nasty d* yesterday. I was both relieved and horrified as I've generally been doing well.. Not eating much fibre as it causes me a multitude of issues but have begun to eat proper meals containing spinach, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms and feeling fantastic. However, Thurs night my housemate cooked a GORGEOUS risotto, the ingredients included white wine, rice, Parmesan, garlic powder, parsley, mushrooms and a ton of onions. I had a slice of garlic bread too and had zero issues until BAM. 5am yesterday I had absolutely HORRIBLE gas which lasted for roughly two hours until I got out of bed and basically got it out my system. TMI but I could smell something in both the gas and bm which smelt like a food , I just couldn't tell.

The thing that's troubling me is that I've eaten hot curry about a week prior to this and have been as right as rain - I also had onions in a stir fry last week? Does IBS just like ghosting then haunting?!

The wonderful thing with IBD/IBS is the way in which it lures us into a false sense of security and then, wham, it strikes, with a vengeance. Personally, I can eat curries and many spicy dishes, until tomatoes are added, and then that is it, I am in trouble. That doesn't matter whether it is tinned tomatoes or fresh ones, cooked or raw, they just turn my stomach upside down.

Maybe you went past your personal threshold for onion and garlic? I know in small amounts onion is fine with me and tiny bit of garlic, but more than that... nope nope! Feel better soon! X
